AgroSupport

The problem
Guinea pig breeders in Peru often work without access to specialized advice, in a sector with low productivity. For a mobile development course, we built an Android app that lets them find an advisor and book a consultation from their phone.
Key decisions
- Built the UI in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and organized it with MVVM and Clean Architecture, so several people could work on features in parallel.
- Structured the Spring Boot backend with Domain-Driven Design and documented it with Swagger, giving the mobile side a clear contract to build against.
- Created advisor and farmer records automatically when a matching profile is created, so the app's flows don't depend on a separate setup step.
- Validated appointment dates and statuses on the server, after finding appointments could be booked in the past.
The result
We delivered the Android app and a containerized backend connected to a remote database. Validation interviews confirmed the app was easy to use and pointed to design and navigation improvements.
